The Neurology and Neurosurgery service has two faculty neurologists, Dr. Simon Platt and Dr. Marc Kent, who are board-certified in neurology. There are also several residents and interns devoted to the neurology service (veterinarians pursuing specialized, advanced training in neurology and neurosurgery under the mentorship of the faculty), as well as several registered veterinary technicians.
Diagnosing the cause of a patient's neurological signs as accurately as possible enables expert care and management of patients with the most current and appropriate treatment options available. Such care begins with having a complete neurological examination performed by the experienced veterinarians on the Neurology and Neurosurgery service. In most instances, further diagnostic tests include imaging procedures such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) or computed tomography (CT).
