“As a current undergraduate researcher at the Zeltner Lab, I have been exposed to many projects that are the cornerstone for regenerative medicine. Among these, one project that has captured my deep interest is the development of a 3D-printed adrenal gland organoid. This model aims to replicate the structure and function of a human adrenal gland by utilizing precise measurements of the organ and integrating plant roots as an approach to vascularization of the organoid. Such advancements are pivotal in the field of regenerative medicine since they hold the potential to revolutionize patient care and accelerate research by offering more efficient, accessible, and customizable solutions for organ repair and replacement. Projects like this not only advance our scientific understanding but also represent a vital step towards improving global healthcare outcomes and pushing the boundaries of biomedical research.”
