“My first exposure to regenerative bioscience was during a 4-H program. We visited the UGA Vet School and saw ongoing research using swine and stem cells to cure head trauma. It was on this trip that I was introduced to the regenerative bioscience major. Two years later, I would remember this major and apply for it through CAES. I believe regenerative bioscience is the future of medicine and science. It allows people to be more than the condition that decimates their quality of life and gives them hope–a powerful treatment within itself. I am now taking the Introductory Regenerative Bioscience class with Dr. Kinder, and I am so intrigued by what I am learning and the research efforts I’ve seen. Truly, I want nothing more than to be a part of this. Having lost family to Alzheimer’s, I want to help prevent others from experiencing this pain. Having seen how a traumatic brain injury can change someone’s life, I want to work to improve these people’s quality of life. My life goal has always been to make a positive difference, and within this field, I truly believe I can do just that.”
