In the Lab
The Sah lab uses integrative physiology approach to understand the reproductive biology of chickens. Using a combination of multi-omics such as epigenomics, transcriptomics, and metabolomics, with live birds, ex vivo, and in vitro cell culture methods, the lab investigates the cellular and molecular mechanisms of poultry egg formation, embryonic development, and chick health. Knowledge obtained from fundamental and applied research in the lab can be used for science-based decision making by stakeholders and improve the reproductive efficiency and sustainability of poultry production.
