In the Lab

The focus of the Reukov research lab is on combining polymer and fiber chemistry and materials science with bioengineering and biotechnology for solving biomedical problems. Inorganic biomaterials are being used for dental restorations, orthopedic implants and bioactive materials like bioresorbable glass. Moreover, inorganic biomaterials can be also developed for applications like tissue regeneration. One of our project’s is devoted to design and synthesis of inorganic biomaterials and their characterization in cell culture environment. We are also working on developing new smart materials for biomedical applications: with antibacterial and/or anti-inflammatory properties for tissue regeneration and healthcare products.

Research Interest

  • Biodegradable Polymers
  • Antimicrobial Polymers
  • Inorganic biomaterials
  • Tissue regeneration
