Kendall Clay was recently awarded an F31 Grant!

Kendall is a Neuroscience Ph.D candidate in the Roberts-Galbraith Lab studying the genetic mechanisms underlying the regeneration and maintenance of dopaminergic neurons in the planarian brain. During her research, she has found two candidate genes that cause a reduction in dopaminergic neurons when knocked down, one of which being gene “Imo1/3-1”.

The F31 grant is designed to support promising doctoral students who will perform dissertation research and training for a PhD degree in a scientific health-related field. Kendall’s F31 grant aims to elucidate the cellular and molecular mechanisms of the gene Imo1/3-1 in how it acts to promote dopaminergic neurogenesis.
