“Over the past year, I have worked as an EMT across Georgia as well as in Athens. This experience has opened my eyes to various health conditions and how the body reacts to those conditions. As an EMT, understanding the physiology behind certain diseases allows us to better treat patients and continue to develop more efficient treatment options. I have also gotten the opportunity to shadow local physicians in Athens and in my hometown, Columbus, allowing me to further appreciate the physiology behind certain conditions and the treatments options that have been developed. In the classroom, I have taken physiology already and will take more advanced physiology courses as I complete my biomedical physiology minor. I also have taken multiple semesters of biology and chemistry which hopefully will give me the necessary background information to further understand the world of regenerative bioscience and the many ways it can be utilized.”
