Taylor H. LePage’s research was selected as one of the Top 20 abstracts at the 2026 National Neurotrauma Society (NNS) Annual Symposium, recognizing its scientific merit, innovation, and translational potential. This distinction earned her an invitation to deliver a Data Blitz oral presentation, in addition to presenting her poster, Neural Stem Cell Extracellular Vesicle Therapy Improves Cellular and Functional Recovery in a Pediatric Traumatic Brain Injury Porcine Model.

Based on the combined evaluation of her abstract, oral presentation, and poster, Taylor was awarded the Walter Koroshetz Award, one of the National Neurotrauma Society’s highest honors for trainee research. Named for Walter J. Koroshetz, MD, former Director of the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS), the award recognizes exceptional scientific excellence, innovation, and translational impact in neurotrauma research.

Working with her mentor, Dr. Franklin West, Taylor investigates the therapeutic potential of neural stem cell-derived extracellular vesicles to promote cellular repair and functional recovery following pediatric traumatic brain injury in a clinically relevant porcine model. Her research integrates biological and behavioral outcomes to advance regenerative therapies that may ultimately improve treatment options for children with traumatic brain injury.
