“My first true introduction to regenerative bioscience was Dr. Holly Kinder’s class, Introduction to Regenerative Bioscience. I previously knew in high school that I was interested in this particular domain of science and medicine, but I did not know that the University of Georgia would provide such amazing coursework to explore this area. Following this class, I continued to explore regenerative medicine by joining Dr. Lohitash Karumbaiah’s lab as a research assistant under Ruiping Tang, which I have continued to date. While more intensive, this research experience is incredibly rewarding. I had the opportunity to present my poster concerning the modeling of traumatic brain injuries at the in vitro setting at the CURO Symposium, the CAES Symposium, and the Regenerative Bioscience Symposium. Through these experiences, I have become a much more skilled communicator of science and look to only develop further. Finally, my most recent experience with regenerative medicine was with Dr. Steve Stice’s company ArunaA Bio. I worked as a month-long remote intern for Dr. Stice exploring the regenerative medicine market, giving me crucial insight into the field. Simply put, my overall experience with this department has been incredible.”
